We are excited to announce that Centro Cultural has been chosen by United Way of the Columbia-Willamette to participate in a major regional effort to break the cycle of childhood poverty.
Centro Cultural will join with 29 other non-profits in Washington, Clackamas, Clark and Multnomah Counties in a collaborative 3-year “Community Strengthening” effort. All the participating non-profits serve low income and culturally specific communities across the metropolitan area.
Each non-profit will be awarded up to $50,000 per year to complete the critical work of improving outcomes for low-income families and their children.

Mexican Film Fest "The Braceros Through the Eyes of Mexico"
July 11, 2014
Centro Cultural will be holding a Mexican Film Fest from July to October about Braceros. Braceros are manual laborers that came from Mexico to the US starting in 1942, following agreements between the United States and Mexico to implement a formal program for temporary contract labor. Many Braceros came to Oregon to work in agricultural fields. You are invited to join us for this fun and informative film series.
